Menstrual hygiene matters

May 26, 2015
FHI 360 and other members of the DC Coalition for Menstrual Hygiene Day will host a Menstrual Hygiene Day event on Thursday, May 28th, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. The event, followed by a reception, will ignite a lively discussion about the many obstacles women and girls around the world face when it comes to menstruation and how these obstacles can be overcome.  Diana Sierra, the founder of Be Girl, will tell the story of how she channeled her passion for menstrual hygiene management (MHM) into creating extremely affordable and high-quality products that help girls and women hygienically manage their menstruation.  Participants will also hear young women from around the world share their MHM stories, watch compelling presentations on why menstruation matters and view exhibits that demonstrate solutions to the MHM challenge from global organizations.  Attendees can meet, network and learn from a diverse group of individuals who are passionate about not letting menstruation stand in the way of helping girls achieve their full potential. RSVP The DC Coalition for Menstrual Hygiene Day includes: Advocates for Youth; Catholic Relief Services; FHI 360; Girls Health Ed; Human Rights Watch; Institute for Reproductive Health, Georgetown University; International Medical Corps; Millennium Water Alliance; Plan International USA; Save the Children; USAID/WASHplus; WASH Advocates; Women and Girls Working Group; and World Vision Inc.
