Training curriculum for staff involved in decentralized drug distribution (DDD) of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in the private sector

Training Guide for trainers and participants

October 2021 — This Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project resource is designed to 1) train staff at health care facilities to create demand for decentralized drug distribution (DDD) and enroll clients, 2) develop skills of personnel in private outlets (for example, pharmacists) to dispense antiretrovirals (ARVs) and support clients on antiretroviral therapy (ART), and 3) equip both health facility and DDD outlet staff with managerial skills to plan for and implement DDD models, including the management, recording and reporting of ARV stock. The learning activities can be tailored for both in-person and virtual environments; they are provided as Word and PowerPoint files with the intention that country teams will modify the materials to suit their country guidelines and programs.
